ISR AIRCRAFT
E-2D Advanced Hawkeye
_The E-2D Advanced Hawkeye is the latest version of the Hawkeye early
warning aircraft and will feature a new radar system. The new radar
system associated with the Advanced Hawkeye will be a solid state,
electronically steered UHF radar. The new Hawkeye will have theater
missile defense capabilities. A new tactical cockpit will make possible
the co-pilot to act as fourth mission system operator. A new IFF,
communications suite, generators, and mission computer will be supplied
to the Advanced Hawkeye.
EA-18G Growler
_The Boeing EA-18G Growler is a carrier-based electronic warfare aircraft; it is a specialized version of the two-seat F/A-18F Super Hornet. The EA-18G will replace the Northrop Grumman EA-6B Prowlers in service with the United States Navy. The Growler's electronic warfare capability is primarily provided by Northrop Grumman.
The EA-18G can be fitted with up to five ALQ-99 jamming pods and will typically add other armaments as well. The EA-18G will also use the INCANS Interference Cancellation system that will allow voice communication while jamming enemy communications, a capability not available on the EA-6B. In addition to the radar warning and jamming equipment the Growler possesses a communications receiver and jamming system that will provide suppression and electronic attack against airborne communication threats.

TARS
_The Tethered Aerostat Radar System (TARS) is a helium balloon borne
radar system. Its primary mission is to provide radar data information
to US agencies in support of drug interdiction missions. On the other
hand, TARS can perform a wide range of long endurance (only limited by
the weather) surveillance missions.
The TARS consists of three sizes of aerostats raging from 56,000 to 625,000 cubic feet which can accommodate three varieties of radar systems (L-88 radar). The whole system comprises the aerostat, mooring system, airborne power generation system, and radar assembly.
